Jacqui Mullins, Annabelle Tilbrook
START DATE: Sun 1st August
A visual story of devastation and recovery at Tilbrook Estate Vineyard following the Cudlee Creek Bush Fire in the Adelaide Hills (December 20th, 2019).
This exhibition features a photographic chronology of the transformation from hopelessness to hope, and the recovery made possible by an outpouring of community support and the determination to rebuild. Images of the immediate aftermath of what has come to be known as Australia’s ‘Black Summer’ have been captured by photographer Jacqui Mullins (Chameleon Art Rental) and illustrate the raw impact on a family and vineyard.
Accompanying is a series of photographic images taken by Annabelle Tilbrook from across the year that followed, paired with journal style text that reveal the emotional impact to share the story from fire through to recovery; something made possible by kindness, friendship and community.
