Welcome to our store!

For the first 18 months after the Cudlee Creek bushfire, because nearly all our stock was destroyed in the fire, we had no wine of our own.

Two local wineries came to the rescue, one donated wine, the other sold it to us at cost. We called this wine ”hope!” because that is what it gave us.

In July 2021 our next step on our road to recovery has been the release of four wines in which we have had a hand in making.

2018 Tilbrook Estate "hope!" Pinot Gris - Sauv Blanc

The "hope!" label (1st and 2nd photos) replaces the burnt and destroyed wine, and label (3rd photo), we had previously. Special dispensation from Liquor Licensing has allowed us to label this wine under our label, but the wine has generously been sold to us at cost by a local winery keen to help us get back on our feet.

The wine is elegant and flavoursome with a bit of citrussy acidity to provide nice balance. Drinking well now, when chilled..

This is the tasting note of our previous wine (3rd photo), which was made by me in our winery and bottled on site. The whole winery including all our stock was destroyed. There is none left.

Beautiful aromas and flavours of passionfruit, lime and other tropical fruits. Elegant fruity palate with citrussy acidity to balance. I am really happy with this wine! One of the best so far.

When we pruned the block we tried something new and different. We pruned a few rows very late, after budburst, to knock the vine's growth cycle back a few weeks. We also only selected the fruit from the more low lying areas of the block which are cooler at night time, giving crisp flavours and beautiful acidity. The results speak for themselves and we have been rewarded with a stunning Sauv Blanc. The grapes were hand picked from our own Estate vineyard. This is “Keith’s Block”, named after the friend who hand trained the vines! The grapes were destemmed and crushed then pressed in our French air bag press. The juice was settled overnight and then the clear juice cool fermented. After this was completed I allowed the wine to sit on its lees for several months for added flavour.
